Dodgers star pitcher Trevor Bauer has reportedly been officially ruled out for the balance of the 2021 season and playoffs.
Major League Baseball and the Players Association agreed to extend Bauer's administrative leave yet again on Friday, ending the 2020 NL Cy Young Award winner's season, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN.
Bauer has been out since late June after a California woman was granted a temporary ex parte restraining order against the 30-year-old pitcher, claiming he'd choked her unconscious, and then punched and assaulted her while blacked out, during what began as consensual rough sex.
Bauer admitted to the acts but said their two encounters were both wholly consensual. Last month, a judge denied the woman's attempt to extend the restraining order for several years, condemning Bauer's actions but saying Bauer did not pose a threat to the woman moving forward.

The allegations remained under investigation by both the Pasadena Police Department and MLB. Even if not charged by authorities, Bauer could still face a suspension from the league.
Passan recently reported, citing league and team officials, that Bauer might never play again in MLB.
