Los Angeles Lakers point guard Dennis Schoder’s animosity toward Kyrie Irving is so strong, he is no longer wearing Irving’s brand of sneakers.

The 27-year-old, who got into a verbal spat with Irving during an April 10 game that led to both players being ejected, posted a YouTube video this week that showed off his impressive shoe collection.

When he pulled out a pair of his Kyries, which Schroder said he has about 30-40 pairs of, the Lakers guard said he could no longer wear the Nets star’s Nike-branded shoes.

“Kyrie Irving…I have a lot of his shoes,” he said in German, with the translation provided in YouTube’s closed captioning. “Unfortunately, I can’t wear them no more, it’s not possible after what happened in the game.

“I cannot do it, not going to wear it again. We will do giveaways, for everyone who wants them I’ll donate, so text me.”

Following the game in which Schroder and Irving were both ejected, the Nets All-Star suggested on Twitter that Schroder had called him the n-word.

“The N-word is a derogatory slur,” Irving wrote. “Throw that N-word out the window, right alongside all of those other racist words used to describe my people.”

Not much was said about the altercation since then, but it is clearly still a sore spot for Schroder.

It is possible Schroder and Irving could meet again if the Lakers and Nets match up in the NBA Finals, which could create for a juicy subplot.
