LaMelo Ball’s impressive rookie season appears to be in jeopardy.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the frontrunner for Rookie of the Year is expected to miss the remainder of the season after sustaining a fracture to his right wrist.
Ball is seeking a second opinion to confirm the diagnosis while the Charlotte Hornets have officially announced him as out indefinitely.
The 19-year-old is averaging 15.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.6 steals per game through 41 games this season.
Ball’s 251 assists, 240 rebounds and 65 steals lead all rookies while his 652 points trail only Timberwolves guard and No. 1 overall pick Anthony Edwards.
