The Warriors' season came to an end with a tough loss against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night, and a pair of rival stars didn't waste much time recruiting one of Golden State's key players.

Trail Blazers standouts Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum expressed support for Draymond Green after the Dubs' loss to the Grizz, when some observers on social media criticized Green for his sometimes erratic offensive play.

Specifically, some thought Green could have offered up a better shot or passed the ball instead of throwing up a left-handed floater in the paint as time expired in regulation with the score tied. The game went to overtime, where the Grizzlies pulled away.

Lillard and McCollum were apparently having none of the Draymond scapegoating, though. Lillard retweeted another user who warned Warriors fans about chasing off Green. McCollum followed up with some choice emojis.

Lillard, after apparently watching the Warriors-Lakers game on Wednesday, jokingly complimented Green as a "mf."

However, Green is coming off just the first year of a four-year, max contract extension he signed with the Warriors two years ago, meaning he he has three more years on his deal. If Green were to leave Golden State anytime soon, it would have to be via trade.

Green, for his part, sounded a bit despondent after the loss, telling reporters the Warriors are still a "ways away" from being title contenders. Similarly, he expressed apathy several weeks ago at the prospect of playing in the NBA's newly minted play-in series, suggesting it would be difficult to rise to the occasion after winning three championships earlier in his career.

There's no quick fix on the way for the Warriors, but the return of Klay Thompson should help, as well as an additional year of development for James Wiseman.
