The MLB season has begun in earnest, but Alex Rodriguez may actually be more excited for the NBA playoffs, which get underway this weekend. The Timberwolves part-owner had a blast at Tuesday night’s play-in game in Minnesota, dapping up Patrick Beverley and Malik Beasley after their win against the Clippers.

A-Rod figures to be in attendance for Saturday’s playoff opener in Memphis, concluding a busy week for the 46-year-old. But even amid his hectic schedule, the former Yankees slugger still found time to work on his jumper.

Rodriguez had stopped playing hoops competitively by the time he reached high school, but you wouldn’t know it from his buttery-smooth stroke, lighting it up from long range like Steph Curry and Klay Thompson’s long-lost Splash Brother.

Imagine being a big enough celebrity to have an NBA arena all to yourself. Though A-Rod has experienced plenty of peaks and valleys throughout his career, the former MLB All-Star doesn’t have much to complain about these days, cruising Miami in a red Porsche with his fitness model girlfriend while brushing elbows with NBA stars Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns, all from the comfort of his courtside seat at Target Center. Oh yeah, and he also has a Sunday night simulcast on ESPN2 with Yankees play-by-play veteran Michael Kay.

Sure, his ex got engaged to Ben Affleck over the weekend, but can the Gone Girl star make it rain from three-point land? I’d like to see him try.
