The Arizona Cardinals selected Purdue wide receiver Rondale Moore with the 49th pick of the NFL Draft.

The four-star recruit came to Purdue and proved he could be a big-play receiver his freshman year, totaling 114 catches for 1,258 yards and 12 touchdowns. Injuries sidelined him in 2019 and he opted out in 2020, but the buzz around him picked up steam again on his pro day when he caught everybody’s attention with a 4.29 40-yard dash.

Whatever concerns there are about his size, Moore makes up for it with his speed and impressive vertical (42.5 inches) and it shows on his tape.

Measurables: 5'9"/180
School: Purdue
2020 stats: 3 games, 35 receptions, 270 yards, 7.7 yards per catch; 6 rushing attempts for 32 yards and 1 touchdown
Accolades: 2019 Academic All-Big Ten; 2018 Unanimous All-American; 2018 AP Freshman First-Team All-American; 2018 Big Ten Wide Receiver of the Year; 2018 Big Ten Freshman of the Year; 2018 First-Team All-Big Ten

Strengths:
• Explosive speed; Can maintain top speed through route
• Deep threat, elusive in open field
• Quick off the line; ability to cut on a dime
• Multi-purpose weapon – can be used as gadget runner, special teams, etc.
• Just as dangerous with ball in his hands after catch

Weaknesses:
• Size
• Durability
• Not much game tape over last two years
• Could have issues against bigger corners
• Could refine route running

Expert scout analysis: "Moore is a playmaking receiver, return specialist, and reverse runner, who is a threat to take it the distance any time the ball is in his hands. The initial quickness he shows the first 2-3 yards when the ball is in his hands is unparalleled and has opponents playing back on their heels.

"He’s size-deficient and lacks growth potential, which could be an issue at the next level. But in the proper system, Moore will be an outstanding NFL skill player." - Tony Pauline, ProFootballNetwork

Tape:

Player comparisons: Tyler Lockett (Lance Zeirlein); Sterling Shepard (Charlie Campbell); Steve Smith (PFF)
