Matt Corral was a three-year starter at Ole Miss, but really began to improve his draft prospects over his last two seasons with the Rebels, tossing 49 touchdowns over his final 23 games.

Whether or not he is ready to take over and NFL offense or needs a year learning under a veteran remains to be seen. Here's more to know about Matt Corral:

Measurables: 6'2", 212 lbs.

School: Mississippi

2021 stats: 20 TD, 5 INT; 67.9 completion percentage, 3,349 yards, 8.7 yards per attempt, 614 rushing yards, 4 yards per carry, 11 rushing TDs.

Accolades: Outback Bowl MVP (2021), second-team All-SEC (2021), 7th in Heisman voting (2021), Manning Award Finalist (2020), led FBS with 384.3 yards per game (2020)

Strengths: Corral has shown he can be a winner. He led Ole Miss to a 10-3 record despite not having the best surrounding pieces and tied Eli Manning for the best record in school history since 1972. He gets the ball out fast and has above-average arms strength for a QB his size. Showed improvement in decision-making from 2020 to 2021, cutting down interceptions from 14 to 5 in three more games played. Mobility allows him to extend the play.

Weaknesses: At 6-foot-1, 212 pounds, Corral is on the smaller size when it comes to NFL quarterbacks, though we've seen plenty overcome any height disadvantage in the past. He already has a track record of injuries and opens himself to more as a mobile quarterback. Left the Outback Bowl with a high-ankle sprain. Corral still needs to prove he can make necessary reads and progressions and able to run a pro-style offense. His maturity and leadership abilities have been questioned by some.

What experts are saying:

"Small quarterback with a big heart who has learned to play with better maturity and control without losing his edge. Corral played in a quarterback-friendly scheme with well-defined reads, so he needs to prove he can work through full-field progressions and make good decisions with the ball. He's decisive, operating with a quick-trigger release to challenge tight windows and possesses the touch to make challenging bucket throws. He's a fiercely competitive runner but needs to get his slide game up as he's not built to take the pounding from called runs or scrambles. Corral is mobile, but his poise and accuracy wane when forced to move. Discipline has benefitted Corral and he's clearly at his best when operating on-schedule and in rhythm. A spread-based scheme and a player-friendly head coach gives Corral the best opportunity to live up to his potential and challenge to become the best QB from this draft class." -Lance Zierlein, NFL.com
