LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) -- Bears coach Matt Nagy on Tuesday denied a report that he has been informed that he’ll be fired after leading his team against the Lions on Thanksgiving Day on Thursday.

“That is not accurate,” Nagy said at Halas Hall.

Nagy added that he hasn’t met or talked with ownership this week as the Bears have a short preparation period ahead of facing the Lions. On Tuesday morning, Patch reported that he’ll coach his last game for the Bears on Thursday and then be fired.

Chicago has dropped to 3-7 and is riding a five-game losing streak for the second straight season under Nagy’s watch. Nagy sidestepped a question when asked if he has assurances that he’ll coach the remainder of the season.

"My focus right now is on these players and Detroit," Nagy said. "That's it."

Nagy is 31-27 in the regular season and 0-2 in the playoffs across four seasons leading the organization.

The Bears blew a late lead and lost 16-13 to the Ravens on Sunday at Soldier Field, where fans voiced their frustration with chants of “fire Nagy” in the closing seconds, a chorus that Nagy acknowledged hearing.

On Wednesday, Bears special teams coordinator Chris Tabor was the first member of the organization to speak publicly on the report that Nagy would be fired. He denied knowledge of the report, saying his only conversations with Nagy have been about the matchup against the Lions, not his job status.

“Love him to death,” Tabor said. “He’s the head football coach for the Chicago Bears. He’s going to help lead us to a win on Thursday. I believe that deep down in my heart. So, to me, there’s no story at all.”

The Bears are scheduled to hold practice Tuesday afternoon at Halas Hall.
