Brandon Jacobs is best remembered as an absolute bulldozer out of the backfield, knocking over defenders as he rumbled up the football field for over 5,000 career yards with the New York Giants. A statistic that's known less about Jacobs' career is that he also made 14 tackles, all of them coming in his first two seasons. Could that resume be enough to get him a job on the defensive side of the football after being out of action for, oh, only eight years?

No way... right? Apparently, Jacobs isn't going to shy away from the challenge, according to some tweets he posted on Thursday.

Unsurprisingly, the posts were met with a healthy dose of skepticism from fans, along with a decent group of excited Giants supporters, and so Jacobs reiterated his stance.

A little while later, Jacobs said he was amazed at the "hate" that was coming through social media after his posts, so it really does seem as though he's serious. Then again, not too many people would have thought that Tim Tebow, after nine years away from the league and with some professional baseball experience mixed in, would ever make a return to NFL action. But here we are.

So Tebow did it. Why not Jacobs?
