The brother of Browns linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah was found dead in Hampton, Va., on Tuesday.

Joshua Emmanuel Owusu-Koramoah's body was discovered inside his burned residence, according to the Virginian-Pilot, and the incident is being investigated as a potential homicide.

Joshua, 23, was a reserve linebacker at William & Mary, where he majored in chemistry, after graduating from Bethel High School in Hampton. A friend said he was working as a high school science teacher at the time of his death, the Pilot reported.

The late Owusu-Koramoah was a year older than his brother Jeremiah, whom the Browns drafted in the second round last year after a standout career at Notre Dame.

Hampton Police and firefighters said they responded to a call about a body inside the home at around 10 a.m. ET on Tuesday. The manner and cause of death were still under investigation.

A friend of Jeremiah told the Pilot that he was one of the first on the scene after Jeremiah had failed to show up for their scheduled breakfast meeting.

“It was touch-and-go for a while because they weren’t sure if it was him right off the bat,” Drew Barker told the outlet. “We tried to hold out hope as long as we could ... When we found out it was him, it was demoralizing trying to figure out how this happened.”
