The New York Giants could be on the verge of bolstering their wide receiver corps, according to a report.

Big Blue is engaged in contract talks with free agent wideout Kenny Golladay, formerly of the Detroit Lions, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

There's "mutual interest" in a deal getting done, and Golladay is expected to visit Giants brass before a potential agreement is struck, the reporter said in a tweet.

The 27-year-old Golladay product has been a downfield threat throughout his four-year career, averaging nearly 17 yards per catch on 183 career receptions. The Northern Illinois product also led the league in touchdown catches in 2019 with 11.

However, he was limited to just 47 games in 2020, owing to a stint on the Covid/reserve list, as well as a nagging hamstring injury.

The reported talks come as the Giants come under increasing scrutiny for a relatively quiet offseason to date, mostly marked by the release of veterans Golden Tate and Kevin Zeitler.

The team also locked up defensive lineman Leonard Williams, rejuvenated after he was acquired in a trade with the Jets, to a lucrative long-term contract.

Meanwhile former Carolina superstar wide receiver Steve Smith recently took aim at Giants GM Dave Gettleman -- their paths previously crossed when they were both with the Panthers -- over his seeming reluctance to acquire a top-flight pass-catcher for Daniel Jones.

Golladay could form a formidable trio for the Giants along with deep threat Darius Slayton and slot man Sterling Shepard.
