CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Odell Beckham Jr. heard from a surprise guest, friend and former teammate during his virtual press conference leading up to Super Bowl LVI – Browns receiver Jarvis Landry.
Landry crashed Beckham’s virtual Super Bowl media press conference to wish his best friend and former teammate at LSU and with the Browns good luck against the Bengals.
“Go get that ring dawg, go get that ring,” Landry said.
Beckham was officially released by the Browns on November 8 following a video post by his father as well as comments made by him on that same post on Instagram criticizing Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield for not throwing Beckham Jr. the ball.
Landry and many of his Browns teammates harbor no ill feelings toward Beckham for forcing his exit from Cleveland, which enabled him to sign with the Rams.
“You’re deserving of this moment bro,” Landry said. “You put countless hours into where you are today, and I witnessed it all firsthand. You have scars to show for where you are today. This is a dream that you are actually turning into reality, and I wanted to come on here and let you know that I am proud of you, bro. There’s so many people supporting you every step of the way bro. Continue to use your light, continue to be a blessing to others.”
Beckham, who never truly bought into being a member of the Browns telling opponents in 2019 to “come get me” and this past season telling Von Miller “Don’t come to Cleveland,” appreciated the unannounced drop in.
“Besides pops, there’s no man who has come into my life and has had the affect and impact that you have had to make me a better person, player, man, a soon to be father, brother,” Beckham said. “You’ve shown me the light dawg and I love you so much bro. This moment is for us. This is everything we ever talked about dawg, so I appreciate you coming on here.”
