Robert Kraft may get his wish of Bill Belichick, 70, potentially coaching into his 80s.

But don't be so certain that if Belichick coaches for another decade or longer that it will be exclusively with the New England Patriots.

Appearing on Pardon My Take Monday, Premier Lacrosse League co-founder Paul Rabil revealed that not only does he think Belichick would have interest in coaching the sport at some point, but believes he would be successful in short order if he chose to do so.

PFT Commenter: So have you ever talked to Belichick about when he's done coaching the Patriots if he would ever want to become a coach in the PLL?
Rabil: Yes
PFT Commenter: You think he's interested?
Rabil: Yes
Big Cat: Woah, now that would be awesome.
Rabil: I feel like he would win in the first three seasons of coaching, if not sooner. I don't think he really coaches football, he just coaches. He coaches human beings. He's so good at that. I mean, the number of draft picks that come out of nowhere and turn into stars ... even lacrosse players he has a knack for bringing them over the NFL. He understands the nuance of sport and blueprint of winning better than anyone
Big Cat: Yeah, and he also would put smart people around him.
Rabil: Smart people around him ... he commands an insane amount of respect. I think I told you guys this. When I first met him, he came to a Hopkins practice. He like stepped into the locker room and was mother******* us up and down around our stick work and the 6-on-6 possession. He's got photographic memory. So, he then just like commands a room. And all of a sudden, you're listening to Bill Belichick coaching you on lacrosse and you're bought in.

There's typically a resentment from those who have spent a lifetime in a given sport when the idea of a successful coach or executive coming to another sport to be a savior is proposed. That there isn't here is pretty telling both about how admired Belichick is in the sporting world and that there's a belief that he already has a pretty strong grasp on the sport of lacrosse.

Will this ever happen? Probably not. But Belichick, Josh McDaniels and Tom Brady famously turned former Penn State lacrosse star Chris Hogan into a key contributor for multiple Super Bowl Champions. Who's to say Belichick couldn't have success coaching another sport?
