The two are both fully vaccinated and could still potentially play this Sunday against the New England Patriots if each player produces two negative tests 24 hours apart.

Losing both running backs, and especially Chubb, would be an enormous blow the Browns’ backfield depth, which is already without Kareem Hunt.

Chubb is also coming off arguably his best game of the season last week against the Bengals, rushing for 137 yards and two touchdowns on just 14 carries.

D’Ernest Johnson, who had an impressive Week 7 performance filling in for Chubb, would likely slide into the starter role should Chubb miss Sunday’s game.

Johnson ran for 146 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries against the Denver Broncos in Week 7.
