The New Orleans Saints marked the end of an era earlier this year, when longtime head coach Sean Payton stepped down after 15 seasons at the helm.
Payton's exit came one season after Drew Brees' retirement, with the two departures heralding a new day for Who Dat Nation.
Defensive coordinator Dennis Allen was promoted to take over for Payton, while it was unclear who the Saints had in mind as Brees' long-term successor.
But a wild card has emerged, with Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson reportedly deciding between the Saints and the division-rival Atlanta Falcons in his quest to secure a trade out of Houston.
The Watson scenario has understandably prompted wild speculation from Saints fans and football fans in general -- with some even wondering whether Watson's arrival could lure Payton back to the Saints' sideline.
While such a scenario seems exceedingly complicated and potentially messy, given Allen's promotion, that hasn't stopped some users on social media from predicting that Payton might "pull a Tom Brady" -- i.e. return after a brief sabbatical.
