Von Miller, the NFL's active leader in career sacks with 115.5, made waves this offseason when he signed a lucrative six-year contract with the Buffalo Bills.

Also notable was which team the Texas native didn't sign with -- his home-state Cowboys.

Dallas was rumored to be in the running for Miller's services shortly before the Bills seemingly outbid the market.

The development was no doubt a gut punch for Cowboys fans, who were surely salivating at the thought of pairing the three-time All-Pro with Micah Parsons, also an All-Pro as well as reigning NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Miller himself seems to have an appreciation for what could have been.

On Instagram on Friday, Miller posted a photo of himself posing with Parsons, captioned "Damn @_micahparsons11 It almost happened."

While the seeming confirmation comes as little surprise, it's no less quite a "what if" for the Cowboys and their fans.

For the Bills, they seemed to go the extra mile to land Miller, who they hope will push them over the top from contenders to champions.

The 33-year-old former Texas A&M star is fresh off a Super Bowl title with the Los Angeles Rams.
