Even as the statuses of Deshaun Watson and Baker Mayfield remain unclear, the Cleveland Browns have some stability in their running back room.
At the forefront of that is three-time Pro Bowler Nick Chubb, who casually squatted 675 pounds Monday as he prepares for his fifth NFL season:
A second-round pick in 2018, Chubb has rushed for 4,816 yards and 36 touchdowns since entering the NFL. Ahead of the 2021 season, Chubb agreed to a three-year/$36 million extension, which guaranteed him $20 million.
As the Browns look to compete in a division that also includes Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson, they'll need to lean on their running game in 2022, especially if Watson is suspended for any portion of the season. With Kareem Hunt and D'Ernest Johnson also in the running back room with Chubb, the Browns have arguably the deepest group of rushers in the league.
