Since Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift began their high-profile romance, it seems the Kansas City Chiefs have been living in a “Love Story” on the field. With Kelce’s new “Reputation” as both a Pro Bowler and pop culture icon, the Chiefs have been “Enchanted” with success, posting a 12-3 straight-up (SU) record and 9-5-1 against the spread (ATS) with Swift in attendance. That includes last year’s Super Bowl victory.
Without her there, they’ve gone 6-3 SU (6-3 ATS) since she started dating Kelce, per the Action Network.
But with Kelce off to a slow start this season—just eight catches for 69 yards—fans and bettors alike are left asking, “Are we out of the woods?” The tight end's offseason jet-setting with Swift may have left him “Delicate,” making many wonder if he’ll be able to “Shake It Off” and have a breakout game anytime soon.
Still, the Chiefs have been “Fearless” this season, going 3-0 and covering the spread twice (2-1 ATS). They face off against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4 as 8.5-point favorites. If Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert is limited or sidelined by an ankle injury, Kansas City looks primed to “Sweep It Off” with another dominant win.
While I’m fading Kelce’s individual stats until he proves he’s ready to “Begin Again,” I’m still confident in backing the Chiefs to cover the spread—especially if Herbert’s ankle keeps him on the sidelines. After all, it’s hard to bet against a team that’s found its rhythm both on and off the field.
