Averaging 3.1 steals per game on the season, Daniels is putting together a legitimate Defensive Player of the Year campaign and this is sneakily a great spot for him to rack up some steals based on the presumed one-on-one matchup against Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. SGA leads the NBA in drives per game (20.6) and ranks third in passes on drives (7.1) per contest. Daniels leads the NBA in deflections per game (6.1), which ranks two entire deflections over the next-highest mark (4.1, Kelly Oubre Jr.). Daniels is going to have to show up defensively if the Hawks want to keep this game close and he’s arguably the best on-ball defender in the game already with a unique blend of athleticism and wingspan.
