NBA Player Prop Picks for Monday, December 16

Best player prop bets for the 76ers vs. Hornets matchup, featuring Tyrese Maxey, Paul George, and Guerschon Yabusele.

With several key players out for Monday’s 76ers vs. Hornets matchup, opportunities arise for others to step up in big ways. Our top player prop picks focus on Tyrese Maxey, Paul George, and Guerschon Yabusele, each poised for standout performances based on usage, recent trends, and matchup dynamics. Here’s why these bets stand out:

76ers PG Tyrese Maxey Over 26.5 Points vs. Hornets (-109, Caesars)

Joel Embiid, Jared McCain, Caleb Martin and Adem Bona are all out and with those guys off the court, Tyrese Maxey has seen a 5.16% usage bump to a team-high 35.06%. He shot just 5-for-16 from the field and still scored 21 points in this exact matchup against the Hornets without Embiid on December 3, but he’s gone for 32, 32, 39 and 45 points without the big man on the floor so far this season, averaging 25.4 points in 14 such games played. McCain being out means the ball will be in his hands even more and I expect him to see a massive amount of volume as a scorer in this one.

76ers SF Paul George Over 4.5 Assists vs. Hornets (-154, DraftKings)

Another guy who will be given an opportunity to step up is Paul George. With Embiid out this season, he’s gone over this number in five of seven opportunities, including five straight. On that five-game streak, he’s not only simply gone over 4.5, but he’s recorded eight or more (eight, nine, eight and nine). In their last game against Charlotte, he recorded a team-high eight dimes on a team-high 14 potential helpers. I expect him to be a key distributor for the Sixers in this one.

76ers PF Guerschon Yabusele Over 11.5 Points + Rebounds vs. Hornets (-125, Caesars)

In 17 games played without Embiid this season, Yabusele has averaged 10.9 points and 6.1 rebounds in 26.6 minutes. Not only that, but he’s gone over this points + rebounds mark 10 consecutive times, posting 19, 22, 19, 15, 29, 12, 21, 19, 28 and 19 from most recent to least recent. I expect Andre Drummond to play quite a bit in this one if he stays out of foul trouble due to the presence of Charlotte’s Nick Richards and Mark Williams, but Yabusele’s production is impossible to ignore in this spot. This is a mispriced line.

Raptors PG RJ Barrett Over 6.5 Assists vs. Bulls (-115, DraftKings)

That isn't a typo... with all of the injuries that Toronto is going through, Barrett will start at point guard for the second straight game. Last time out against the Heat in this situation, he posted a triple-double with 10 assists on 16 potential dimes and he will now get the best possible matchup against a Bulls team that has allowed 11.17 dimes to opposing PG's (most in the NBA). I wouldn't go nuts with any alt lines or ladder this, but I do like this number quite a bit.

Clippers PG James Harden 10+ Assists vs. Jazz (+120, BetMGM)

The Jazz have allowed the 2nd-most assists per game to opposing point guards (10.49) and first and only time he faced Utah this season, he posted 11 dimes on 22 potential assists... the highest potential assist mark any player has posted against the Jazz this year.
