ESPN's Manningcast turned heads in Week 11 with an interesting lineup of guest analysts that included longtime top US diplomat Condoleezza Rice.

Since her official exit from world politics, the former National Security Advisor and Secretary of State has pivoted, in part, to the world of sport.

In the past decade alone, Rice has served as an original member on the College Football Playoff committee; joined Augusta National Golf Club as one of its first female and Black members; and even surfaced in rumors regarding head-coaching openings and the NFL commissionership.

Of course, Rice's political career and her sporting bona fides are very much points of contention. Those issues and others bubbled to the surface on social media during her MNF appearance.

Here are some of the highlights from Rice's MNF debut, and what people were saying about it on Twitter.

Arguably the most notable (and cringe-worthy) comment came from Peyton Manning himself, when he was introducing Rice to the broadcast midway through the third quarter.

"She can talk about the Middle East and the middle linebacker," Peyton cracked. "I like that."

However, opponents of US military operations in the Middle East and central Asia were less amused.

Meanwhile Rice's resurfacing set off a flurry of nostalgic tweets regarding reports from several years back that she was being considered as next head coach of the Browns.

Rice also advocated for women taking on increasingly senior roles on football coaching staffs.

Still, there was more than a few users wondering why Rice was even invited on the air and disagreeing with her analysis.

But, Rice also had some fans and friends chiming in to support her.
