Former Dallas Cowboys' running back Marion Barber "was found dead in his apartment by Frisco Police on Wednesday," Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star Telegram reports.
The Cowboys confirmed the report of Barber's death to 1080 KRLD.
The team said it was "heartbroken" in a social media post.
At this time, it's unclear how Barber passed away. He was just 38 years old.
A fourth-round pick in the 2005 NFL Draft out of Minnesota, Barber became known for his power running style during a career that lasted seven seasons. Barber average 4.1 yards per carry, while rushing for 4,780 yards and 53 touchdowns as a member of the Cowboys and Chicago Bears.
