Travis Kelce is arguably the best tight end in the NFL and one of the best to play the position. So, take it from him when he says LeBron James would have thrived at the position in the NFL.
“I think ‘Bron would have definitely been a problem on the football field, no doubt about it,” Kelce told TMZ Sports. “Especially with the tight end room. That’s us Northeast Ohio guys, man. We’re all-around athletes. You can throw us in any sport, we’ll have success.”

In addition to being the best high school basketball player in the country, James was also a star football player and was even recruited by Urban Meyer to play at Notre Dame.
Kelce, who grew up in Cleveland Heights about 45 minutes from James’ hometown of Akron, believes LeBron possesses the athleticism and mental aspect of the game that would have allowed him to thrive in the NFL.
“I think LeBron is one of the greatest athletes in the world, right,” he said. “His athleticism, how knowledgeable he is about the game of basketball that you can tell how he plays, he gets down to the scheme of things.

“And, that’s a lot about being a football player is understanding schemes, going out there, playing free and letting your athleticism show.”
The conversation around LeBron James as a football player resurfaced this week after the Los Angeles Lakers star joined Peyton and Eli Manning on Monday Night Football where he discussed how the Cowboys and Seahawks reached out to him in 2011 to try out for their teams.
James said had he accepted their offer, he would have likely tried out as a tight end.
Instead, James stuck with basketball — again — and went on to win the NBA Finals and Finals MVP that year and three more times afterward and he looks to add a fifth ring to his resume this season.
