Unlike the past couple of weeks, there is just one Monday night game to close out the Week 5 schedule. Obviously, that limits the DFS options on DraftKings just a little for Monday Night Football. Nevertheless, if you need a little help filling out your roster or making tough decisions, here is one player at each position that you should try to include on your DFS roster Monday night.

Patrick Mahomes ($16.5k Captain, $11k)

If you want to roster one QB, the choice between Mahomes and Derek Carr should be an easy one. While Carr looked good early in the year, he has just one touchdown and two interceptions over the last two weeks, both losses by the Saints. Granted, the possibility to rack up a lot of yards if the Saints are behind in this game is there. But the Chiefs have also been stingy defensively, holding three of the four quarterbacks they’ve played to just one touchdown pass. It’s far more likely that Mahomes will get on track despite the injuries around him.

Alvin Kamara ($17.1k Captain, $11.4k)

Kamara is another obvious choice for top overall RB since it’s unclear how the Chiefs will split the carries in their backfield. There is no such issue with Kamara, who has nearly four times as many carries as backup Jamaal Williams. Kamara also has six total touchdowns this season and has the second-most receptions on the New Orleans roster. In a game like this, the Saints are going to sink or swim with Kamara, giving him the ball as much as possible. Even against a tough Kansas City defense, the volume of touches Kamara is likely to make him worth putting on your DFS team.

Rashid Shaheed ($12k Captain, $8k)

For the moment, Shaheed is still being undervalued a little. He leads the Saints in targets and yards per catch. He’s also the only player on the New Orleans roster with multiple receiving touchdowns and has the most catches of 20 yards or more. Defensively, the Chiefs will be focused on Kamara and still might look at Chris Olave as a bigger threat. Granted, Shaheed had zero catches against the Eagles a couple of weeks ago. However, Carr targeted him 11 times last week, which is a sign that he’ll get plenty of opportunities on Monday night.

Travis Kelce ($11.9k Captain, $8.6k)

You might as well take a chance on Kelce despite his slow start to the season. Things are looking up for him after receiving nine targets last week. With Rashee Rice out of the picture, Mahomes might have to force the ball toward Kelce a little more than usual. That should lead to a healthy fantasy output for Kelce and perhaps his first touchdown of the season.

Chiefs D/ST ($6k Captain, $4k)

Both defenses offer decent value on Monday, although Kansas City’s defense has the benefit of not having to face Mahomes. Despite forcing a modest three turnovers and collecting just eight sacks over four games, the Chiefs have held three of their four opponents to 20 points or less. Plus, with an extra day to prepare, Steve Spagnuolo could come up with some exotic blitz packages that should help Kansas City's defense put pressure on Carr and disrupt the New Orleans offense. That should make the Kansas City defense a decent DFS option.
