Evan Neal is not your typical offensive lineman.

The Alabama tackle, who could potentially be the No. 1 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, showed up at the NFL Scouting Combine on Thursday looking in tremendous shape for a guy who weighs well over 300 pounds.

In fact, Neal — who was listed at 6-foot-7, 350 pounds during the college football season — weighed in at a lean 337 pounds, which had everyone turning heads on just how physically fit he looked for that weight.

Neal is not planning to workout at the combine, saving that for Alabama’s pro day on March 30 and letting his film speak for himself.

The 2021 All-American has been touted as a potential No. 1 due to his “rare blend of size, athletic ability, balance and play strength,” according to Bleacher Report’s Brandon Thorn.

NC State offensive tackle Ickey Ekwonu, Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson and Oregon defensive end Kayvon Thobodeaux are all potential options for the No. 1 overall pick.

If Neal were to be selected by the Jaguars, he would become the first Alabama player since Joe Namath in 1965 to be drafted No. 1 overall.

“It would mean everything,” he told reporters on Thursday. “You have a whole lot of Alabama players that were worthy of having the No. 1 spot, and for that to be me, that’d be extremely special. I feel like the whole state of Alabama would be proud. The University of Alabama would definitely be proud, for sure.”
