Joe Burrow’s knee injury in Super Bowl LVI does not appear to be as bad as it looked.

The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback will not need surgery on his knee, although will need to undergo rehab on the sprain, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Burrow, who was already battling a banged-up left leg, sustained the injury on a sack in the fourth quarter against the Rams. He refused to receive medical attention at the time, as he did not want to be forced out of the final quarter of the Super Bowl.

The 25-year-old was sacked seven times during the course of the game — tying a Super Bowl record.

He was taken down a total of 70 times over the regular season and playoffs combined, including 19 sacks in four postseason games.

Burrow’s rookie season last year was also cut short after he tore his ACL in his left knee.

It’s clear that the Bengals will need to do everything they can this offseason to add protection around him.
