One of the most popular players to bet on in the Big Game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs will be RB Saquon Barkley, who has been a revelation for the birds this year. He’s been incredible and had one of the greatest rushing seasons we have seen in a decade, putting him in the MVP conversation as a running back. However, with how popular he is going to be in this game, should you bet on him to have another fantastic performance against a Chiefs defense that ranks 8th in the league against the run?
Brad Evans, who hosts BetMGM Tonight with Ryan Horvat, absolutely doesn’t care at all and is hammering Barkley to go over his rushing yards prop. He even took out an inflatable hammer when giving out the bet.
“If this was set at 129.5, I’d probably take the over,” said Evans. “Saquon is going to at least pick up a couple of massive chunk gains in this one, so yea, over 113.5 rushing yards. At -115 juice, I’m totally down with that.”
He went on to explain why he is so confident that the star running back is going to have a great game against Kansas City.
“Kansas City is ranked No. 25 in rushing EPA defense in their last five games. Now, they have not allowed a single 100 yard rusher this year. If you look at the regular season, they are allowing just 3.79 yards per carry and 70.4 rush yards per game. Saquon has gone over this in five straight games, and is top-10 in yards after contact and missed tackles forced. He is going to buck the trend of Kansas City’s stoutness against the run.”
Indeed, the Eagles are going to be the best running team the Chiefs have seen by a mile this season, as Philly ranks second in rushing in the NFL. Barkley has been torching everyone in his path as of late, but interestingly, only had 10 carries going into the fourth quarter last game. He still managed to go over this total against the Commanders, who were one of the worst rushing defenses in the NFL.
It is also worth noting that the Philadelphia offensive line will also be one of the best that Kansas City has seen all season by a decent margin. While the Chiefs haven’t allowed a single 100 yard rusher this season, they have allowed over 100 rushing yards total in five straight games as teams have used multiple backs against them. Evans also clearly doesn’t care that the public is all over his props.
At BetMGM, almost 80% of the money is on Barkley to go over his rushing prop, which certainly isn’t a shock. We’ll see if Evans cashes his bet on Barkley to go over 113.5 rushing yards, or if the books will have a party if he doesn’t.
