My Best Bet: Zach Edey +650.

The big question about this market is which players are going to get the playing time needed to put up the counting stats required for consideration. As Edey showed in Summer League play, he is going to continue to produce whenever he gets time on the floor, maybe not at the dominant level he displayed in college, but with a great deal of efficiency. I expect him to start at center for the Grizzlies right away and with Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Marcus Smart potentially joining him in the starting five, he should have a solid supporting cast. That will allow him to make an impact around the rim on both sides of the floor and he should be a nightmare finishing off lobs from Morant in particular since the point guard is one of the most aggressive drivers in the NBA.

If he averages a double-double with something around 15 points and 10 rebounds per game, which I expect him to do, Edey should win this award. I’m not sold or even confident whatsoever on any other player in this draft class and nobody else is safe.
