Jerry Jones finally met face to face with the world's No. 1 Cowboys hater Stephen A. Smith.

During Thursday's edition of First Take, Stephen A. made his entrance with Jones on his private helicopter as they made their way to The Star in Frisco, Texas.

Once the two sat down for a live discussion, the 79-year-old Jones called out the colorful sports pundit for being a "fraud," claiming that Smith is secretly a closeted Cowboys fan.

"Deep down you're a fraud, you're a real Cowboy fan!" Jones said to the delight of Cowboys fans in attendance.

Smith has always been one of the loudest critics of the Cowboys. He has labeled the franchise as "mediocre" and on numerous occasions has called them an "accident waiting to happen."

Later on in the episode, Smith ranked the current Cowboys squad as the seventh best team in the NFC but predicted yet another early exit from the playoffs.

In a prior interview on Wednesday, Jones said he was ready to get after Smith in front of a live audience full of Cowboys fans.

"I’m sure Cowboys Nation is going to smother Stephen A. in some Texas-sized hospitality,” Jones said yesterday, per CowboysCountry. “We can’t wait to show him how to kick off the 2022 Season … Cowboys style! He will see what The Star is all about. This is going to be about as much fun as he has had in a long, long while."

As the old saying goes, hate is the highest form of flattery. That may be the case for Smith but he's also no dummy. He and the producers at First Take know what works best for ratings and constantly lambasting the league's most popular team will certainly help play a part in getting that down.
