Matthew Stafford Passing Prop Has Cashed Nine Straight Times

Can the Rams QB Deliver Again Against San Francisco in Week 3?

It was a very bad and ugly day for the Rams last Sunday, getting absolutely blasted on the road by the Arizona Cardinals 41-10. It was never a contest, as they got dominated in every way imaginable, and now they find themselves sitting at 0-2 on the season. Not only is their season already on the brink, but they also lost both of their superstar receivers for the foreseeable future, with Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp both going down to injury. Indeed, Los Angeles is in a really tough spot now having to face a San Francisco 49ers team that just lost outright to the Minnesota Vikings.

The good news is that they still have QB Matthew Stafford throwing the ball for them, who continues to impress even at the age of 36. He’s always been a gunslinger from the pocket since his days at Georgia, and that kind of mentality has allowed him to rack up many passing yards and touchdowns over the years. In fact, there is one prop that is available right now in the market that he has been cashing with relative ease for a while.

Stafford’s passing yards prop is set at 213.5 at most sportsbooks against San Francisco this weekend. He’s gone over that line in nine straight starts, including both games this season. The last time he went under 214 passing yards was on November 19, 2023 against the Seatte Seahawks when he managed just 190 yards through the air. He had a two game streak there going under this, as the week before that game he only had 162 against the Cowboys. There were only two games in his entire 2023 season in which he went under this mark.

Obviously, losing Nacua and Kupp is not ideal when it comes to passing the football, and you would think that Los Angeles will try to run the ball a bit more because of those major losses. Still, the 49ers are big favorites here, and that likely means that Stafford will be having to throw to keep up with them in this game. He only played San Francisco once last season, easily eclipsing this line with 307 yards passing.

It won’t be an easy challenge with the 49ers coming off a loss, as I’m sure they will want to play a very good game, but this is not asking a ton of Stafford at home here. I would also expect that the general public will be on San Francisco, which means the books are going to need the Rams to keep this one close. Stafford is going to have to have a good game in order for that to happen, which means the chances he cashes this again are even higher.
