Kevin Gausman is not only entertaining us while he's on the mound this season, baffling hitters en route to a 1.74 ERA and his first career All-Star selection. He's also entertaining us with hilarious — and probably not too attainable — ideas for how the Giants could spice up their uniforms.

We're referring to his suggestion regarding the Giants' City Connect uniforms. They're awesome as is — with a large Golden Gate Bridge logo adorning the sleeve while fog creeps up the numbers for a very San Francisco-esque effect — but the talented 30-year-old starter had another creative, if a little outlandish, idea.

The focus behind his hypothetical design? The ominous island of Alcatraz, home to one of the most notorious prisons in American history. The actual look he had in mind? Whatever he envisions Alcatraz prisoners wearing on a baseball field.

"They're super cool, super unique. You know, I was joking [that] I think they probably could have made them a little bit more loud," Gausman said. "I think the fog is a little — I think there's just so much more that goes into the city than the fog. But that's just my personal opinion. I think they should have dressed us up like prisoners at Alcatraz, I think that would have been great, but I don't make those decisions.

"But they'll be sweet. I think the fans will really like them. Having the orange, the Golden Gate on the sleeve, like super cool, and I think the fans will enjoy seeing them."

Hmmm... I think I'll stick with the idea that the team ran with in the first place. I'm not saying I'm opposed to the whole prisoner idea, but it might limit fielders' range and base-running speed if, say, there was a 12-pound ball-and-chain, which supposedly was actually used at Alcatraz for a time, attached to everyone's ankles. Giving the fog and the Golden Gate Bridge a nod is perfectly fine with me, and based on the reaction of the MLB community, these City Connect unis are definitely a win.
