DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Yes, that actually happened...

In the bottom of the fourth inning of the Rangers home game against the Los Angeles Angels on Friday night, Texas' star shortstop Corey Seager came to the plate with the bases loaded and one out in a 3-2 ballgame (Rangers on top).

And that's when things got wild...

Angels manager Joe Maddon called for Seager to be intentionally walked.

According to MLB writer Sarah Langs, that's the third time in MLB history that a player has been intionally walked with the bases loaded since 1950. The other two instances: Barry Bonds in 1998 and former Ranger Josh Hamilton in 2008.

Coincidentally, Maddon was the manager who called for Hamilton to be walked in that game when he was the Tampa Bay Rays manager.

Buck Showalter was the manager who called for Bonds to be intentionally walked with the bases juiced in '98.

Seager is no slouch at the plate, but he's no Bonds or Hamilton, who slugged 32 home runs in '08. Entering that at-bat, Seager was 0-1 with a walk and is hitting .321 for the season with one home run through 6 1/2 games.

The next hitter, Mitch Garver, would go on to hit a sac fly to score a run. Then, Austin Warren balked, allowing another run to score.

Needless to say, social media couldn't believe it. And neither could Mike Trout.
