Whether you’re new to DFS or a long-time player, Week 6 is a great time to get involved and play. Of course, with four teams on a bye and some weeknight primetime games involving key players, not everybody is available for Week 6 DFS teams. Plus, success one week doesn’t always translate to success the following week. That’s why we have three players worth considering for your DFS lineup at every position based on your budget for each position.
Quarterback Week 6 DFS Picks
Elite Option - Jayden Daniels ($7,300)
A road game against Baltimore will be the biggest test Daniels has faced in his young career. But he’s certainly earned the right to be a top-tier fantasy quarterback thanks to his running ability and the fact that he’s led the Commanders to 30-plus points in three straight games. Also, the Baltimore defense has had some subpar performances this year, including last week. Without a lot of other great options among elite quarterbacks, Daniels is the best option.
Mid-Tier Option Kirk Cousins ($6,200)
Admittedly, targeting Cousins might be a case of overcorrecting after he threw for over 500 yards and four touchdowns last week. But he does look like he’s starting to settle in with the Falcons. He surely has enough receivers around him to put up big numbers. The fact that Cousins is playing a Carolina team that’s allowed over 30 points in back-to-back games and gave up over 300 passing yards to Caleb Williams last week is a sign that Cousins is a safe DFS pick. Four of the five quarterbacks to face the Panthers this season have thrown at least two touchdown passes, so this is as much about Carolina’s defense as it is about Cousins.
Value Option - Justin Fields ($5,800)
Fields and the Steelers have lost back-to-back games, although he’s going to remain the starter, even with Russell Wilson back at practice. Assuming Mike Tomlin doesn’t change his mind, Fields has good value as a low-cost DFS quarterback in Week 6. Facing the Raiders, who couldn’t even contain Bo Nix last week, certainly helps Fields. Similar to Nix, he’s a threat with his legs, making a rushing touchdown a distinct possibility, which is another reason Fields is worth a shot for DFS owners looking for a cheap quarterback.
Running Back Week 6 DFS Picks
Elite Option - Derrick Henry ($8,000)
There are some injury questions among the top running backs this week, making Henry the safe choice and the best choice. Even when he was held in check for most of last week’s game, he had a 51-yard run late to get himself to 92 total yards. Henry has scored a touchdown in every game and managed at least 84 rushing yards in four straight games. While the Washington defense slowed down the Browns last week, the Commanders have been hit hard on the ground more times than not this season, creating very little confidence that they can keep Henry contained for 60 minutes.
Mid-Tier Option - Chuba Hubbard ($6,300)
Amidst all of Carolina’s struggles this year, Hubbard has become a consistent fantasy running back. He’s actually sixth in the NFL in rushing despite scoring just two touchdowns and gaining just 14 yards in Week 1. Hubbard has rushed for a minimum of 97 yards in three straight games, including a pair of 100-plus games. No matter the opponent or the quarterback, the Panthers are going to lean on their running game for as long as they can, giving Hubbard plenty of touches.
Value Option - Bucky Irving ($5,400)
Even though Rachaad White has more carries, Irving is Tampa’s leading rusher. He’s gaining 5.6 yards per carry and nearly 50 yards per game. That somewhat limits his value, but it’s a safe bet that Irving is going to get at least 10 touches. Given how productive he’s been with limited touches, he’s a solid option if you don’t have much DFS money to use on one of your final roster spots.
Wide Receiver Week 6 DFS Picks
Elite Option - Mike Evans ($7,300)
Evans is always a safe DFS option. While he’s allowed Chis Godwin to surpass him in targets and yards, Evans has five touchdowns this season, including three in the last two games. Despite a lack of explosive plays from Evans this year, Baker Mayfield is still targeting him frequently (21 over the last two weeks), especially in the red zone, which is what is keeping his DFS value high.
Mid-Tier Option - Diontae Johnson ($6,100)
Despite a quiet game against the Bears last week, Johnson is still a good mid-level fantasy option as long as Andy Dalton is the starting quarterback. Johnson excelled in Weeks 3 and 4 with Dalton, catching 15 passes for over 200 yards and two touchdowns across those two games. With Adam Thielen on IR and Xavier Legette questionable, Dalton will be looking in Johnson’s direction even more this week. Plus, the Panthers are likely to be playing from behind, which could allow Johnson to pick up some garbage-time points.
Value Option - Dontayvion Wicks ($5,200)
Some weeks, the Packers almost have too many receiving targets. However, Wicks has become a preferred target for Jordan Love over the last two weeks, generating 20 total targets across the last two games. Despite a modest output last week, Wicks is just two weeks removed from a two-touchdown performance. That makes him something of a boom-or-bust DFS player. But against the Arizona defense, there is a good chance Wicks will have another big game, so his upside is high for such a cheap option.
Tight End Week 6 DFS Picks
Elite Option - Sam LaPorta ($5,500)
LaPorta didn’t have a strong start to the season while dealing with an injury. Also, he’s yet to find the end zone this year. However, he had four catches on four targets in Week 4 and then had a bye last week to get himself healthy. At some point, he's bound to become one of Jared Goff’s preferred targets yet again. With an extra week to prepare, look for the Lions to make LaPorta a bigger part of the game plan this week.
Mid-Tier Option - Tucker Kraft ($4,800)
Amidst all of Green Bay’s receiving options, Kraft actually ranks second on the team in receiving yards and is tied for the team lead with three touchdowns. In fact, only Jayden Reed has more catches of 20 or more yards than Kraft. His role on the team has grown immensely as the season has gone along. If that continues, Kraft will continue to be a strong DFS option. For now, the cost of adding him to your team is still reasonable, giving him excellent value.
Value Option - Cade Otton ($3,500)
At his best, Otton is far more valuable as a DFS player than his current price reflects. He was non-existent during the first couple of weeks of the season, similar to several other notable tight ends. However, Otton has averaged seven targets per game over the last three weeks, collecting at least 44 receiving yards in each game. That kind of production isn’t great, but Baker Mayfield has clearly rediscovered Otton as a reliable safety net. He should continue to provide at least some production, making him a safe tight end option at a low price.
D/ST Week 6 DFS Picks
Elite Option - Eagles ($3,400)
Overall, the Philadelphia defense has been up and down this year. However, it’s typically a good idea to target the team that’s playing Deshaun Watson and the Browns. Watson is averaging just 170 passing yards per game and has already taken 26 sacks in five games. The Cleveland offense looks atrocious right now with Watson at serious risk of getting benched. At times, the Eagles have looked good defensively and they surely have the talent to take advantage of the dumpster fire that is the Cleveland offense.
Mid-Tier Option - Colts ($3,100)
Similar to the Eagles playing the Browns, the Indy defense is a good option this week because the Colts are playing the Titans. Will Levis is averaging just 151 passing yards per game with more interceptions than touchdowns. There is even a chance Levis will miss this week with an injury, forcing Mason Rudolph to play. While the Colts haven’t been impressive defensively, they've managed to play well against young quarterbacks and backups this season. They should have the personnel to have a good DFS game against either Levis or Rudolph.
Value Option - Patriots ($2,400)
Even at 1-4, the Patriots have a top-10 defense. That side of the ball has put together some strong performances this season, even if the New England offense won’t cooperate. Facing the Texans this week figures to be a stiff challenge for the Pats. But the Houston offense isn’t exactly firing on all cylinders at the moment. At home, the Patriots should put up strong resistance, giving them a surprising amount of DFS value despite being the cheapest defense this week.
