You Better You Bet: Betting Impact of Cooper Kupp's Injury

Nick Kostos and Femi Abebefe discuss how losing Kupp affects the Rams in Week 3 and beyond.

Week 2 of this NFL season brought a tough loss for the Rams when they fell 41-10 to the Cardinals, but it came with another loss as well in Cooper Kupp.

Kupp sustained an ankle injury in Week 2 and will be out for an extended period of time, which led You Better You Bet's Nick Kostos and Femi Abebefe to take a look at the Rams’ chances not just this week, but also through the rest of the season.

“Sunday, the Niners coming off the loss to Minnesota, -7.5 at the Rams without Kupp, without Puka (Nacua),” Kostos said. “I mean, is there any way that Stafford gets sat in this game?”

“I think they’ll still try to play Matthew Stafford just because it’s a prideful organization with McVay and Stafford and what they’ve been able to accomplish during this tenure. I’m going to go ahead and say it, I’m not proud to say it, but I do have a Rams ticket +7.5 in this game. And this is just kind of banking on the head coach and quarterback being so good to where it should never be catching more than a touchdown at home. Now you could say that hey maybe this is probably a pseudo home game since there’s probably going to be 60-65 percent 49ers fans since they are the second-most popular team in Southern California … The o-line has at least four of their starters back … If they don’t win this game it is season over for the Los Angeles Rams.”

Per BetQL's NFL Model, the Rams have just a 14.46% chance to beat the 49ers in this game.
