The Sanderson Farms Championship returns this week as the second stop of the FedExCup Fall, offering golf fans and bettors a chance to cash in on some intriguing opportunities. With last year’s winner emerging from a five-man playoff at 18-under par, the field heads back to The Country Club of Jackson with a familiar course and favorable conditions expected. In this betting preview, we’ll break down our model’s top finishing position values to help you make the most of your wagers for the Sanderson Farms Championship.
Keith Mitchell To Win (+2200, FanDuel)
The model is giving Mitchell +953 odds to win the Sanderson Farms Championship, so getting a whopping 22/1 at FanDuel is showing some significant value. He is actually the favorite to win at those long odds, showing how deep this field is. If you go by some of the advanced stats, Mitchell was actually one of the best golfers in the sport last season. He ranked 11th in total strokes gained, and was phenomenal off the tee, ranking 4th in that category. His issue has been putting, where he has really struggled, ranking 150th there. Even though he is 32 years old, he seems to have really found something this past year.
Rickie Fowler To Finish Top 5 (+1200, BetMGM)
The model is giving Fowler +264 odds to finish in the top 5 at the Sanderson Farms Championship, so clearly, getting 12/1 odds on it at BetMGM is showing huge value right now. After having a bounce back season in 2023, Fowler’s game fell off a cliff in his age 35 year. He was one of the worst golfers on tour, ranking 156th in total strokes gained, and was specifically terrible off the tee where he ranked 144th. In fact, the best aspect of his game this season was his putting abilities, but even that ranked a very sub-par 102nd in the field. Indeed, it was a very bad year for the veteran golfer. Perhaps that is why we are getting 12/1 odds here on him to finish in the top 5 of a deep field, but he’s popping in our model.
Ryan Fox To Finish Top 10 (+450, BetMGM)
The model is giving Fox +206 odds to finish inside the top 10 at the Sanderson Farms Championship, so while the value here isn’t as drastic as it was in the previous picks, we are still getting some here. Fox is a 37 year old veteran, and at this stage of his career, he has not been so excellent. He ranked 103rd in total strokes gained last season, which is in the bottom half of the field. He really struggled with his approach, where he was 91st, but the best part of his game was his putting. He ranked 53rd in that category, which is above average. With a field as wide open as this one, finishing inside the top 10 isn’t a huge ask.
Daniel Berger To Finish Top 20 (+450, BetMGM)
The model is giving Berger +102 odds to finish inside the top 20 at the Sanderson Farms Championship, so getting +450 at BetMGM is offering us a good chunk of value here. Berger actually didn’t have that bad of a season off the tee and with his approach to the green, where he ranked 43rd and 62nd, respectively. However, he really struggled with his short game, ranking a miserable 167th in putting. Overall, he was 120th in total strokes gained, which was in the bottom half of the field all season.
Ryo Hisatsune To Finish Top 40 (+140, BetMGM)
The model is giving Hisatsune -137 odds to finish inside the top 40 at the Sanderson Farms Championship, and getting plus money on a prop we feel should be juiced is some serious value here. You probably have not heard of Hisatsune, as he is just 22 years of age and a newcomer, but he actually was quite good this past season for how old he is. He ranked 73rd in total strokes gained, and was particularly effective in his approach, where he ranked 60th. However, like a lot of young guys, he struggled to putt the ball. He was 118th in putting this past year, but he is very young, and will improve.
