According to TMZ, the incident took place while the two were on board the plane, which had to turn back on the runway and return to the gate due to a verbal and physical altercation between Peterson and his wife.

Peterson, 36, was arrested after police determined that his wife suffered a small mark from their altercation. He was arrested and booked with his bail being set at $50,000.

The plane still took off with Ashley staying on the flight. The two attended DirecTV's Super Bowl party in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

Peterson, who last played with the Seahawks this season was previously arrested back in 2014 for hitting his son with a wooden switch.
