Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim attempted to put to bed any idea that the team could trade quarterback Kyler Murray in advance of next week's NFL Draft when speaking to the media Thursday:

While there's no indication that Murray has requested a trade through his agent Erik Burkhardt, it certainly hasn't been an ideal offseason for the two sides.

The 24-year-old temporarily removed all pictures of him on the Cardinals from his Instagram page and unfollowed the team back in February. The Cardinals social media team countered by removing all images from their Instagram page except two of Murray, a move that seemingly would have needed the blessing of someone higher ranking in the organization than a social media manager.

While both sides ultimately restored all images on their respective Instagram accounts and Murray has downplayed any friction, the aforementioned Burkhardt did issue this statement on behalf of Murray in late-February:

According to NFL Media's Tom Pelissero, Burkhardt has since withdrawn the initial contract offer sent to the Cardinals on Murray's behalf. Per Pelissero, the Cardinals haven't countered with an offer. Murray is slated to make $5.489 million in 2022, and all indications are that the former No. 1 overall pick doesn't intend to play if the Cardinals don't work out a long-term deal with him.

So while the Cardinals may not be interested in trading Murray, that doesn't necessarily guarantee that he'll be their starting quarterback in Week 1.
