The football world was recently rocked by the tragic death of former Steelers, Commanders and Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins.

Sadly, Haskins' birthday was just weeks away when he was fatally struck by a vehicle on an interstate highway in southern Florida.

Tuesday marked what would have been Haskins' 25th birthday, and his widow, Kalabrya Haskins, posted a touching remembrance to the fallen signal-caller on social media.

Kalabrya published a series of photos showing her with her late husband. She captioned the post with a sweet, touching poem.

"Life without you here brings so much pain," it read in part. "But today we celebrate your 25th reign. Your light was so bright, words can't begin to explain ... How proud I am of the man you became."

Haskins' untimely death was met with shock and an outpouring of tributes from players, fans and journalists. At least week's draft, the NFL paused to show a tribute video dedicated to Haskins.

The former first-round draft pick appeared poised to compete for the Steelers' starting quarterback job in 2022, after latching on in Pittsburgh following his stint with Washington.

As a sophomore with the Buckeyes, he tossed a whopping 50 touchdown passes to just nine interceptions, along with 4,800 passing yards. He finished third in Heisman Trophy balloting that season.

His wife closed her post with these words:

"My twin flame. I vow to always honor your name.

"Until we unite after this life again, Your soulmate, lover and best friend."
