Welcome to Bye Week Hell.
Maybe I’m weary from not getting my eight hours (why must every MLB playoff game end at midnight?) or just don't have the energy today after taking another devastating L on FanDuel. Or maybe I’m old and beaten down by years of Christian McCaffrey ownership, the ultimate test of one’s sanity. But constructing a fantasy lineup without the help of Buffalo, Dallas, Jacksonville, Los Angeles (Chargers, not Rams), Minnesota and Pittsburgh is not a task I’m looking forward to. Not even a little bit.

You’d be defeated too, pouring through a bone-dry waiver wire, trying, with growing desperation, to fill the void left by PPR dynamo Najee Harris or his Vikings counterpart Dalvin Cook. Whether you’re experiencing the introspection and crippling self-doubt that comes from losing your starting quarterback (Josh Allen, Dak Prescott, Justin Herbert and Kirk Cousins are all getting breathers this week) or stomaching the embarrassment of a browser history that now includes searches for “D’Ernest Johnson” and “Demetric Felton,” the bye-week blues are very real.
It won’t be for the faint of heart, but this game has always required an adventurous spirit, so join us aboard the Audacy Sports Fantasy Football Show, where Chris Emma, Jordan Cohn and I talk waivers, streaming preferences and much more ahead of what promises to be a challenging week on the fantasy high seas.
