Playing for the first time in 15 days after a Week 10 bye, the Giants came out flat in an ugly Monday night loss to Tampa Bay, posing little challenge to the reigning Super Bowl Champs. New York produced an anemic 215 yards of total offense, a season-low and their second-fewest under OC Jason Garrett. Speaking to reporters after the game, coach Joe Judge couldn’t hide his frustration with the Giants’ offense and Garrett in particular, implying it may be time for a change.

“We’ve got to do a better job of putting our players in position to make plays. We have good players. We have to put them in better position to capitalize on it,” said Judge, not mincing words after Monday night’s loss dropped the Giants to last place in the NFC East. “As a player, there’s some things I’d be frustrated with as well.”

Judge, whose own job might be in jeopardy (the same goes for GM Dave Gettleman) if the Giants’ season-long spiral continues, was noncommittal when asked about Garrett’s role going forward. “I’m not going to go into that right now,” said Judge, now 9-17 in his two seasons atop the Giants’ chain of command. “I expect us to produce at a higher level, let’s leave it at that.”

New York’s offense has been in a rut all season, eclipsing 400 yards on just four occasions. Injuries to Saquon Barkley and Kenny Golladay haven’t helped, though Garrett’s predictable scheme and unimaginative play-calling—traits that have plagued him since his days with Dallas—have done little to accentuate the Giants’ strengths. “It’s [the players’] job to go out there and execute. But we’ve got to make sure we’re putting them in position to have success,” said Judge via Zack Rosenblatt of NJ.com. “I’m going to watch the tape and evaluate everyone. Every player, every coach, and make all the decisions that are best for the team going forward.”

The Giants, who hold just a two-percent chance of reaching the postseason according to Fivethirtyeight.com, will try to right the ship when they return home to face the Eagles (winners of three of their last four) in Week 12.
