For the first time all offseason, Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals appear to be on the same page.
The former No. 1 overall pick simply responded with the 100 emoji to a quote NFL Media's Ian Rapoport tweeted out where Cardinals general manager Steve Keim said that there was "zero chance" that the team would trade Murray:
Murray also quote tweeted a conversation that included two of his former teammates -- Patrick Peterson and Chase Edmonds -- discussing his future with the Cardinals:
What does this mean? Well, most likely that there won't be any posturing from Murray and agent Erik Burkhardt to be traded if a long-term contract isn't reached before next week's NFL Draft.
However, it would probably be premature to say that there's no chance Murray is ever traded.
NFL Media's Tom Pelissero reported last week that Murray "is not expected to play unless he gets a new deal." If the two sides can't find common ground as they look to increase his $5.489 million salary in 2022 and give the quarterback long-term security, who knows what will happen.
