Apparently ruining one draft isn’t enough for NBA Insider Shams Charania. He needs to spoil the NFL Draft, too.
About three minutes before the start of the draft, Charania tweeted he heard the Jaguars would select Georgia defensive end Travon Walker. As it turns out, he was right.
The Jaguars wasted little time announcing they had selected Walker.
Since NFL reporters are barred from spoiling picks, this was the perfect opportunity for Charania to swoop in and take a shot at his fellow Insiders.
Ian Rapoport could not confirm until after the pick was made.
Interestingly enough, this isn’t the first time Charania has broken NFL news. Last year, he correctly reported the Saints were re-signing Jameis Winston.
With Adam Schefter attending his son’s college graduation, there is an Insider vacuum during the first round. Maybe Charania can fill that void.
