The MLS Conference Semifinals are set to begin on Sunday, November 24. Eight teams are vying for the championship ahead of their important single-elimination matches. A number of betting favorites have been eliminated from title contention and the playoffs have been unpredictable at times. Here are some of the best wagers available for each match.
New York City FC ML vs. New York Red Bulls (+115, BetMGM)
Both teams will have a lot on the line in his Hudson River Derby. NYCFC hasn’t lost in three straight rivalry matches and won the last two outright. The favorite’s crushing 5-1 victory on enemy turf in September makes it hard to bet against them in this matchup. The home team lost just four of their 17 home matches this season and hasn’t shown any weakness there as of late. Count on NYCFC advancing to the next round.
LAFC ML vs. Seattle Sounders (-110, BetMGM)
LAFC enters this matchup having beaten Seattle four times in a row. Two of those victories came this year and LAFC outscored the Sounders 5-1. It’s hard to see Seattle flipping the script as LAFC has won five of its previous six home meetings with Seattle. The other result was a draw. One of the most prolific scoring teams in MLS has home field advantage. Bettors should keep it simple here.
Orlando City vs. Atlanta United Over 2.5 goals (-165, BetMGM)
There has been no shortage of goals in games featuring Atlanta United and bettors should expect that trend to continue in this Eastern Conference matchup. The total has gone over 2.5 goals in nine of Atlanta United’s previous 10 matches. They’ll face an Orlando City squad that made the net bulge 59 times this season. Orlando scoring has been more stagnant as of late, but that was largely because of Charlotte FC’s stout defense. There’s a good chance it bounces back in the upcoming match.
LA Galaxy ML vs. Minnesota United (-155, BetMGM)
The Galaxy netted a league high 69 goals this season and is set to face Minnesota for the third time this year. Minnesota managed a draw before losing to LA the second time around. The underdogs have actually put more shots on goal than the favorites in this matchup, but LA’s ability to dominate possession will be the decider. One of the most dominant home teams in MLS should win convincingly.
