Kevin Durant and Evan Fournier have their own private battle going.
And while Durant respects Fournier, he really, really doesn't like him when they get on the court.
Durant took aim at Fournier last Sunday as the Nets beat the Knicks 110-107. After hitting a jumper in Fournier’s face, Durant trotted back to get on defense while gesturing to Fournier that he was too small.

It was a ruthless taunt, and Durant gave the whole backstory during this week’s episode of his podcast “The ETCs with Kevin Durant."
“I didn’t (speak French to him). I said he was a mini,” Durant said. “There’s just something about that France team, they beat us in the Olympics. I just don’t like any one of them. Like, I respect them and they’re all great dudes and if I see them off the court I’ll give them all a big hug, but they’re just one of those teams and players I don’t like. … I want to beat them and do it in great fashion every time because they beat us in the Olympics.
“Evan just plays with swag, he can play with a lot of swag, and sometimes if he’s knocking down shots and they go on a run, it can be annoying just to see how swaggy he is. I’ve always liked his game, but playing against him you just want to beat him. He’s one of those guys, you just want to beat his ass every time. I guess that’s a respect thing too, he worked his way up. When he’s making shots you know it’s going to be a tough one.”
Considering Fournier and Durant will be with their respective teams for the foreseeable future, expect plenty more chirping between the two during each Battle of New York.
