Most of the times when I find myself at a loss for words watching sports, it's because a play or athletic feat was so impressive, so miraculous, so mind-blowing that I can't even conjure up coherent thoughts as to how amazing it was. But in rare occasions, it's the other end of the spectrum — when a play is so mind-numbingly bad that there's quite literally no explanation for what we just witnessed, and so silence is the only answer.

You never want to be the focal point of such a play. Sadly, on Monday night, Giants quarterback Daniel Jones was just that.

Entering the contest, Jones had only thrown five interceptions on nine games in the season, with a career-low 1.7% interception rate. But then something happened — he saw ghosts, he temporarily lost control of his limbs, he became possessed by the ghost of Nathan Peterman, etc. — and I can't emphasize enough how shockingly bad it was. Just watch.

Quick hat tip to Steve McLendon — all 6-foot-3, 310 pounds of him — for the big man interception, coming after Jones threw a big man touchdown to Andrew Thomas earlier in the game. But other than the idea that Jones was targeting big men all night, I truly have no explanation as to why Jones threw the pass where he did. It seems I'm not alone.

Even Condoleezza Rice had to throw a jab at the Giants QB... and that's when you know it was bad.

Welp. Better luck next time — although there's no way you can say that bad luck had anything to do with that display. Better... throw next time?
