DSP is back. 

The Washington Capitals announced they have recalled forward Devante Smith-Pelly from the Hershey Bears on Friday. 
Smith-Pelly tallied eight points (four goals, four assists) in 54 regular season games for the Capitals before being demoted to Hershey in February. 

Friday Capitals head coach Todd Reirden said DSP will be in the lineup right away.

The 26-year-old forward recorded six goals and eight assists (including a hat trick) in 20 games with the Caps' AHL affiliate. 
Smith-Pelly was a key contributor for the Capitals down the stretch last season, scoring seven goals and in three-straight Stanley Cup Final games. He scored the game-tying goal in the third period of Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final, minutes before Lars Eller put in the Cup-winner.
The roster move comes a day after the Capitals lost forward T.J. Oshie due to injury for "quite some time" according to head coach Todd Reirden.

Oshie suffered an arm injury after being hit from behind by Carolina forward Warren Foegele. 

"It's an extremely dangerous play and (Oshie) will not be with our team for a while," Reirden told the media. "He won't be playing anytime soon."

Senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellanre announced the Caps have re-assigned goaltender Vitek Vanecek to the Hershey Bears of the AHL in a corresponding move.
