DSP is back.
Friday Capitals head coach Todd Reirden said DSP will be in the lineup right away.
The 26-year-old forward recorded six goals and eight assists (
including a hat trick) in 20 games with the Caps' AHL affiliate.
Smith-Pelly was a key contributor for the Capitals down the stretch last season, scoring seven goals and in three-straight
Stanley Cup Final games. He
scored the game-tying goal in the third period of Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final, minutes before Lars Eller put in the Cup-winner.
Oshie suffered an arm injury after being hit from behind by Carolina forward Warren Foegele.
"It's an extremely dangerous play and (Oshie) will not be with our team for a while," Reirden told the media. "He won't be playing anytime soon."
