The Washington Capitals own the Boston Bruins.
With a 4-2 win Thursday night, the Caps have now won 14-straight games over the Bruins.
But one of the stories of the game was Brad Marchand, a noted NHL pest, turning down the opportunity to scrap with Caps forward Lars Eller. In the team's previous encounter,
Marchand took a few shots at Eller after the Bruins deemed Eller's goal celebration overzealous for a 7-0 game.
"Lars Eller tried to fight Brad Marchand last night,"
Grant Paulsen said on
106.7 The Fan Friday, "Brad Marchand was unwilling. Because? Well, he's Brad Marchand. He'll only fight when Lars Eller is unsuspecting and he can jump him."

January 11, 2019 After the game Eller said, "Obviously he didn't want any part of it."
"Everybody saw what he is,” Eller said of Marchand. “I don’t think there’s a lot of integrity in his game.”
Danny Rouhier agreed with Eller's assessment of Marchand: "What a punk that dude is."
"He's a punk, good player, but he's a punk," Rouhier said. "If you do that sort of stuff and you can't play (well), I get why you're in the league. If you're good and you do that crap, I hate your guts."
When asked if he was satisfied with the exchange, Eller said, "I would have rather fought him, but can't fight a guy that doesn't want to fight."
Brad Machand when Lars Eller was not suspecting him: Fought him.Brad Machand when Lars Eller was ready to fight: Wanted nothing to do with it.This is Brad Marchand in a nutshell ladies and gentlemen.

January 11, 2019 Marchand's response: “I haven’t looked at the stat sheet, but I really don’t feel like I need to prove anything. He plays maybe 10 to 12 minutes a night, and I’m playing 20. In a 1-0 game and to go on a power play, it doesn’t make sense.”
