Let's face it: nobody bats 1.000, especially not in sports predictions and talk radio. But how many other media outlets will own up to it when some of our guys got it wrong?
It is ice cold takes time, with a review of some of the worst takes of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, said right over the air on 106.7 The Fan:
"It's kind of embarrassing to lose--maybe be swept--by the Blue Jackets in the first round. It's gross!"
"Well, we may have talked to Barry Trotz for the last time, last week. He's a nice guy, I like him. It just didn't work out."
"I would rather lose now and just be done with it. Just put it behind us. Can this team win the Stanley Cup? No. Alright, so let's just be done with it."
"You five know, and I know, that the Caps are gonna break our hearts tonight. I cannot believe you're wasting your time talking about victory buns, and poisons and all that nonsense. They're going to lose because that's what they do. I feel so confident that they're going to lose, I'm not going to watch the game."
"When you score four goals on the road in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals and lose, you blew your must-win. I think the Caps lost the series in Game 1."
