Fans, players react to more umpire controversy at World Series

Can there be one game in this World Series without umpiring controversy?

Evidently not. Game 6 in Houston featured another huge blunder by the umpires. Fortunately for the Washington Nationals, they were able to even the series.

The first call, which isn't getting as much attention was he final out of the top of the 6th inning. Victor Robles was called out on strikes on a pitch that was clearly not even close to being a strike.

Another 3+ inch miss and strikeout. This can't happen in the #WorldSeries. @Victor__Robles was the victim of this blown call. pic.twitter.com/bHBmVSCxf9

Woof. Robles has no luck in this series.

And then all you-know-what broke loose during the top of the 7th.

And the reaction on Twitter was wild.

MLB players were all going crazy.

That is an absolutely awful call... what are we doin?

— Jake Arrieta (@JArrieta34) October 30, 2019

You can't make that call in the World Series. The ball took the 1st baseman off the base...

— Delino DeShields (@LinoDeShields) October 30, 2019

That's such a brutal call. If anyone knows interference, it's me.... and that ain't it chief.

— Will Middlebrooks (@middlebrooks) October 30, 2019

What a joke. Makes no sense. #WorldSeries

— Alex Rodriguez (@AROD) October 30, 2019

Why put the bag in fair territory then! Go and do the softball orange safety bag so we can make it clear where to touch the bag in FOUL territory. Such a bad rule pic.twitter.com/VicFsyi9We

And, of course, 106.7 The Fan personalities had some thoughts.

How is Trea Turner interfering while stepping ON the first base bag? He was literally on the bag when the glove was dislodged. That was a TERRIBLE call in a massive moment. From 2nd and 3rd with nobody out to 1st and 3rd with 1 out. Good lord.

— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) October 30, 2019

That's downright cheating.

— Eric Bickel (@EBJunkies) October 30, 2019

No words... just an incredibly bad call he's literally on the bag as he's getting hit by the ball..

And people thought the Nats were on the wrong end of calls before tonight.

— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) October 30, 2019

Kate Upton, wife of Astros' starter Justin Verlander, agreed with the call.

He wasn't within the base path. Those who don't know the rule you HAVE to run inside the 2 lines. Not sure why the review is taking so long... pic.twitter.com/SzUJTA4L70

— Kate Upton (@KateUpton) October 30, 2019

Heather Zimmerman, the wife of Nats' first baseman Ryan Zimmerman, did not.

Once again. Ridiculous. MLB is so one-sided right now.

Of course, in the eyes of Major League Baseball, Upton was correct. Joe Torre, MLB's chief baseball officer, explained it after the game: "The violation was when he (Trea Turner) kept (Yuli) Gurriel from being able to catch the ball. It's a judgment call. The right call."

And while Upton may be wrong, countering with that misogyny is just dumb. Don't do that.

I LOVE talking about sports and reading all of the dumb misogynist comments. It reminds me that women need to keep fighting for equality. It's 2019 but feels like the 1950s. #feminist

And then after Anthony Rendon's homer, Zimmerman had one more tweet.

F YES. Karma.
