It was a quick day at the office for Adam Eaton and Davey Martinez.
The
Washington Nationals starting right fielder and manager saw just five outs before being ejected by home plate umpire Jeremie Rehak in Sunday's series finale against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

July 28, 2019 The seeds of the confrontation between Eaton and the home plate umpire were planted when the 3-1 pitch was called a strike despite being above the zone. Eaton tossed his bat toward the Washington dugout and was nearly a third of the way to first before realizing the umpire had called it strike two.
After swinging through a Walker Buehler off-speed pitch for the second out of the bottom of the first, Eaton shared some choice words with the umpire and that was too much for Rehak. And Martinez met the same fate moments later.
This is frustration bubbling over from the weekend. Nationals were really unhappy with Brian O’Nora’s calls to Howie Kendrick on Friday. Dave Martinez got into it with Dan Bellino last night. And here we are. https://t.co/FHGnecDp5B

July 28, 2019 Good to see Davey Martinez get his money's worth after being ejected. #Nats have had a lot of close calls go against them in this series. Many of them were bad calls. Boiled over.

July 28, 2019 For Martinez, it was his first ejection since May 23, when the Nationals lost to fall to 19-31. Since then, the Nats have gone 36-19 and a season that looked on the brink of collapse was saved.
Will history repeat itself?
Among Washington supporters, fingers remain crossed.
